Michael Stephen Zerr
Michael Stephen Zerr aged 60 years Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Sunday, August 4th, 2024, after complications with multiple myeloma. Michael was born November 5th, 1963, in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. He was the second youngest of seven children.
Michael was a son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, stepdad, proud grandpa, and friend. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Maxine and Gus. Michael is survived by his siblings: Karen (Pat) Langton, Shelley (Dave) Elder, Marcus (Christal), Dana, Alexis (Shel) North, and Wilfred (Christy); stepchildren, Cher (Andras) Hajosi (Cassandra, Braydon and Noah), and Cindy Miller (Jayda and Jackson); great-grandchildren, Kalden and Brier; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
As an electrician by trade, Michael was a proud member of IBEW and worked throughout Saskatchewan for most of his career. He had an outstanding work ethic and continued to work until he could no longer do so.
Michael had many loves, the first being his dogs. He also loved the outdoors and went fishing and hunting throughout his whole life. He knew every fishing hole and never would tell a soul where they were. He would track his prey when hunting and always had sausage to share with all his family and friends. Golfing was another passion, and you would always find him at the Lynbrook Golf Course. He was an avid sports enthusiast cheering on the Edmonton Oilers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Blue Jays, and the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Hasmatali will officiate and interment will take place in Sunset Cemetery. Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Michael’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7. Sorry to hear about you Mike. I attended high school with Mike at Riverview and worked with him at Canada Packers,Western Canadian beef ,XL..I had not seen Mike for few years but I heard he was not doing so good. Sad news for sure. Condolences to all family and Friends. I remember having the odd smoke break in high school with Mike. You could talk about anything with him. I lost touch since a reunion in the 90s when he was working in the printing business (I think). Wonderful tribute on the obituary. Sounds like he lived life fully!
