Joy Young
Joy Young of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at the age of 86 years. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 6th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Linda Owens will officiate and interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. She was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Lydia Bell and her sister Winifred Marsh; father in law Alexander Young; and her mother in law Jane Young. Joy leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 62 years Alexander; her daughters Linda (Chuck) Brumwell of Emerald Park and their children Lindsay and Adam, and Alexis (Tony) Schroeder of Okotoks, AB and their children Ehren and Graham; her sister Edna Bjornson of Moose Jaw; her brother Alex (Karen) Bell of Prince Albert; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joy was born on June 10th, 1922 and immigrated as an infant to Canada with her parents. She grew up and did her schooling in Moose Jaw. She worked at Prairie Airways and later moved to eastern Canada where she worked in an aircraft factory during WW II. Joy married Alexander McPhee Young on October 23rd, 1947. She was active with the Moose Jaw A.C.T. Ladies. She was a loving mother and enjoyed sewing and crafting. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she took great pleasure in time spent with her grandchildren. She will be missed.
