George Wright
George Wright, of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on Wednesday, April 4 th, 2007 at the age of 94 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 10 th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane, with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating. Interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery. Legion Rites will be conducted by Roscoe Steele of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #59. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 9 th, 2007 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. George was born in Winnipeg, Mb. where he received his education. He then started employment with the CPR where he worked for 45 years, mostly in the investigation department. George served with the Canadian Railway Corps. as a signalman from 1942 until his honorable discharge as a corporal in 1946. He married Irene Gladys Weakley in February 1943 in Winnipeg and moved to Moose Jaw in 1946, where he resided until his passing. George was predeceased by his parents Christopher and Hester Wright; and granddaughter Barbara Clooten. George will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 64 years Gladys; daughter Joan( Roy ); son Chris (Gina); five grandchildren Heather (Patrick), Ashley, Nikki, Shane, and Trevor (Linnea); five great grandchildren Stephanie, Matthew, Austin, James and baby Franssen; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Flowers are greatly declined, those so wishing may make a donation in George’s memory to the Poppy Fund, c/o t he Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #59, 268 High St. W., Moose Jaw, Sk., S6H 1S8.
