Janice Rhae Wilson
Janice Rhae Wilson (nee Lewry) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on Saturday, June 27th, 2009 at the age of 57 years. Janice was born and raised in Moose Jaw. Her passion during her teen years was playing women’s fastball. Janice played on the Moose Jaw Dixies with her father Don as the coach. They won the Provincial Championships in Melfort in 1967. Baseball has remained her life long passion. She was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Janice married in 1969 and had two children Deanna and Derek. In 1988 Janice attended the Wascana Institute and attained her nursing diploma in 1990. She pursued her nursing career in Houston, Texas for nine years before returning to Moose Jaw in 2001. Some of her most enjoyable times were her trips with her Mother and soul mate to Portugal, Mexico, Costa Rica, Las Vegas, New Mexico, Texas and a Caribbean cruise. Janice was predeceased by her father Donald Lewry. She is survived by her mother Rhae Gibson “Scotty” Eion; her step mother Donaleen; her children Deanna Wist, granddaughter Tatianna and Derek Wist, grandson Ryan; and her brothers Brett Lewry and Doug (Pat, Andrew, Sarah, Ethan & Kayla) Lewry. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date.
