Dorothy Wilson
Dorothy Grace Wilson (née: Deets), aged 94 years of the Tugaske District, SK passed away on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 in Moose Jaw, SK. Dorothy spent her early years on the family farm in the Harley District in Saskatchewan until she met and married Thomas Wilson on July 11th, 1948. Together they raised 3 children. Dorothy kept busy gardening, sewing, and taking care of the many animals. She was also active with the UCW and the Rebecca Lodge, where she made many life-long friends. Dorothy enjoyed watching Thomas and her boys compete in pony chuck wagon and chariot races. Occasionally she would take a trip with her girlfriends, which she thoroughly enjoyed and would often reminisce about. Dorothy was overjoyed to teach her granddaughters to bake, sew, and care for orphaned baby animals.
She was predeceased by her parents, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, and her loving husband, Thomas. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marj (Bob) and their children; sons, Gerry and Larry (Brenda); their daughters, Twyla (Justin) and Larrissa (Jordan); great-granddaughter, Shayla; as well as numerous other relatives.
A Private Family Interment will be held to honour Dorothy. The family would like to thank the staff of Providence Place Guardian Grove for the exceptional care they provided to Dorothy. Our deepest condolences on the passing of Grandma/Dorothy. Our family has fond memories of visiting Grandma on the farm when Kevin, Darren and Troy were younger. Grandma loved her visits to our family at Carrot River and Tobin Lake and she continued her visits to the Lower Mainland, BC when we moved west in 1979. Her last visit was memorable and she enjoyed seeing Kevin and Ron’s new townhome in Richmond. Grandma usually visited twice a year in Summer and at Christmas. She loved playing cards and dominos, visiting the mall, and loved our Skytrain/Seabus adventures to Vancouver when she was a bit younger. Often she visited with one of her sisters, Ada, Hazel and Reta. Card games with Hazel, Ada and Grandma are especially memorable as when the 3 sisters got together laughter could be heard around the block. Our family will cherish our memories of Grandma/Dorothy. Love, Kevin (Ron); Darren; Troy (Shannon), Great Grandson, Matt; Bob and Marjorie.
