Edwin Wiebe
It is with great sadness that the family of Edwin Wiebe, Archydal, Saskatchewan, announces his passing following a brief illness on Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Ed was born in Morse, SK., on April 3rd, 1929 to parents Abram and Annie Wiebe. He grew up in the Dillabough, SK. district. He worked for many years in Northern Alberta and later in the Moose Jaw area as an equipment operator until his retirement at the age of 73. Ed was a trustee with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3395 for many years and enjoyed spending time with his many friends at the club. Predeceased by his parents, infant daughter Leahanne; brother Tony; brothers-in-law: Bill Blyzniuk, George Goertzen and Wayne Tell and sister-in-law, Anne Wiebe. Ed is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marlene (Nee: Dalrymple); his children: Kevin (Sherrie) of Moose Jaw, Janice of Elko, B.C., Elmer (Angela) of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Tyler (Nicole), Amanda, Marley (Scott), Hayden and Jaxsen; great grandchildren, Tyrae and Tianna; sisters: Minnie Goertzen, Elsie (Stan) Montgomery, Lorraine (David) Blyzniuk, Gladys (Reg) Desjardins and Esther Tell; brothers: Peter Wiebe, John (Lou) Wiebe and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Private Family graveside service will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Friday, November 23rd, 2007 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 561 Home Street West.
