Betty Ilene Wendt
Betty Ilene Wendt, aged 86 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away Monday, October 3rd, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur (1998); daughter, Barb (2006); granddaughters, Krista and Shantel; her parents, William and Tillie Lindquist; brothers, Henry (Jean) and Oral; sisters: Alice (George) Olsen, Pearl (Dickie) Clelland, and Florence (Roy) Weppler. Betty is survived by her sons: Duane, Paul (Sandra), Larry (Corrine) and Rod (Sheree); sister-in-law, Pat Lindquist; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Betty was born July 24th, 1925 and was raised in the Calderbank area. After graduating from high school, Betty went on to teach school. She married Arthur on November 6th, 1944 and together they farmed in the Chaplin district and raised four boys and one girl. The Wendt Orchestra enjoyed playing for many, many different functions. They made a lot of friends through dances, playing cards, visiting and camping etc. Betty fought a tough “battle” with arthritis most of her life. Her feisty attitude got her through until she had no desire to struggle anymore. The family would like to express their thanks to Chez Nous, Extendicare and Pioneer Lodge for the great care that Betty received and for the support that you gave her family. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 7th, 2011 at 1:30 pm in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Hasmatali will officiate and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery.
