Reiny Wendel
In loving memory of a great husband, father and grandfather. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reiny on December 19th, 2006 at the Pasqua Hospital after a long, silent and courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family at his side. Reiny was born on April 13th, 1931 at the farm at Central Butte . In 1953 he married Vionne Lindquist and they took over the family farm at Central Butte, where they worked together side by side until he went to meet his Lord and Savior. He had a strong connection with the land and a passion for aviation. He held his private pilots license for many years. Reiny was active in the cattle industry and served on the board of Directors for the Charolais Association and acted as a 4H leader and judge for many years. Reiny was dedicated to his family and his life long passion of farming. He took pride in developing his prize winning Charolais herd. He was very proud of his five grandchildren and he loved to joke around with them. Everyone enjoyed his sense of humor. Reiny was predeceased by his parents Emma and Rudolph, numerous Aunts and Uncles and by his in-laws Albert and Ellen Lindquist. Reiny is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Vionne , his daughters Denise (Gord) Poulton, Charlene (Rick) Spanjer and his grandchildren Michael (Krista Huber) and Krista Poulton, and Amber, Daniel, and Candace Spanjer. Reiny is also survived by his Aunt Ella Graham, Aunt Ida Wendel, many cousins and trusted employee and close family friend, John Waldner. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 22 at 2:00 PM at Central Lutheran Church , 27 Hochelaga St. W. Moose Jaw . Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital , 4101 Dewdney Ave. , Regina , Sk , S4T 7T1, would be appreciated.
