Robert Glyn Wells
Robert Glyn Wells, aged 83 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital after a long, courageous battle with end stage kidney disease and pneumonia. “Glyn” was born in Mankota, SK on November 19th, 1929 to Mary and Robert Wells. He was one of nine children. Glyn spent 37 ½ years working for the Canadian Pacific Railway before retiring. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, playing cards and gardening. Glyn was one of those amazing men that could fix anything. He was a kind-hearted and gentle soul that loved to joke and tease, especially with his grandchildren and later with his dialysis nurses. Glyn was an avid Blue Jays fan and spent many evenings watching them play and cheering them on. He remained active until these past several years when his health declined and he was placed on dialysis. Glyn is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dianne (Yaschuk) Wells; their three daughters: Melodee Wells (Mike Schwinghamer) of Moose Jaw, Memoree Wells of Winnipeg and Tange Skaggs (Steve) of Louisville, KY; and seven grandchildren: Addison, David, Kennedy, Rachel, Bryce, Elijah and Chase. The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Marx, Dr. Dautremont, his dialysis nurses at the Union Hospital with whom he loved to tease, and also to the staff at Extendicare. Although he was only there for a short time, we could feel their compassion and dedication to their patients and knew that Dad was being well cared for. A Private Service for family and close friends will be held later this week. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Extendicare, 1151 Coteau St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 5G5. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
