Marilyn Roberta Weiterman

Marilyn Roberta Weiterman, aged 63 years of Kincaid, SK, passed away on Friday, March 31st, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK.  She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Jones; father, Robert (Ellis) Jones; sister, Helen Janiskiewicz; and son, Arthur Weiterman.  Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Leanne Churcher (Mark) and their children: Emma, Nolan, Sophie and family friend Johnny Lamontagne; son, Robbie Weiterman (Brandy Lamontagne) and their children, Arthur and Cyril.  Marilyn was born October 2nd, 1953 in Kincaid, SK, and was the 6th child to Ellis and Dorothy Jones.  Her family lived in numerous places while she was growing up: Regina, McCord, Rockglen, Moose Jaw, and Kelowna BC, before finally settling in Kincaid – making this their forever home.  Marilyn attended Kincaid Central High School, and in 1974, she married the love of her life, Donald Weiterman.  Together, they had 3 children: Leanne, Arthur and Robbie.  Marilyn and Don purchased the homestead on the hill NE of Kincaid, and this is where they raised their family.  During this time, Marilyn held plenty of jobs, full and part-time alike.  She certainly wore many hats: farmer, homemaker, waitress, nurse, and her all-time favorites, mom and now, grandma; and though she only had 3 biological children, she was certainly a mother figure to many.  The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional hospital for all their efforts during this difficult time.  A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Rink in Kincaid, SK with Pastor Rick Hawreschuk officiating.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Marilyn’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.  You can also visit www.mjhf.org and click on support the foundation, and then click on memorial and tribute gifts to donate online.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
