Dora May Valness , born March 24, 1924 passed away peacefully at her home on January 15, 2007. The Memorial Service will take place on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane . Pastor Henry Murray will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date. She grew up on a farm in the Ormiston area and later married Stanford Valness in June of 1942. They farmed south of Ormiston. She later retired to Moose Jaw in 1996. She took great pride in her home and yard and was very proud of all the carpentry work she did. She enjoyed her work as a bar maid where she made many life long friends throughout the years. Predeceased by her parents Fredrick and Jessie Venn; and one brother Fredrick Venn. She leaves to mourn her children Lynda (Ed) Schneider of Saskatoon, SK; Marlene (Barrie) Erskine of Moose Jaw, SK; Beverly (George) Auger of Gravelbourg, SK; JohnValness of Moose Jaw, SK; Diane (Mel) Stephanson of Moose Jaw, SK; Donna Valness (Kirby) of Moose Jaw, SK; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister Irene Duzan; brother Roy Venn; and sister-in-law Anne Venn. Donations made to the charity of one’s choice in Dora’s name would be appreciated by the family.
