Gordon David Usher
It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon David Usher (Gordie) announces his passing on May 14th, 2011. He passed away peacefully at home due to heart failure. Gord was born on October 20th, 1949 in Moose Jaw to Fred and Brenda Usher. He worked for 20 years at Canada Safeway and later cared for many yards around town summer and winter. He returned to his life trade of meat cutting, working at Superstore until his passing. He loved the Blue Jays, the Leafs and especially his yard. A good day was spent sitting on his front step, taking pride in his green grass and marigolds. He had many friends, a sharp wit and loved pulling a practical joke any time he could. Predeceased by his parents and his brother Robbie, he is survived by his sons, Derek (Corena) of Vancouver, BC and Dustin (Karri) of Moose Jaw; 6 grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn (Pat) Sullivan, Harvey (Emily), Bev (Dennis) Widenmaier and Ray (Lynn); and numerous nieces and nephews. In keeping with Gordie’s wishes, a private family service will be held. A Time of Fellowship and Celebration of His Life for Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, May 19th, 2011 at the Sportsman Centre, 276 Home St. E. from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordie’s name to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK. S6H 9Z9 would be appreciated.
