Calvin Donald Turner
It is with deep sadness that the family of Calvin Donald Turner announces his passing on Sunday, November 1st, 2015. Calvin was born on May 25th, 1951 and grew up in Regina, the tenth child of John Turner and Maude (née Williams Short) Turner of Regina, SK. Cal was a journeyman painter by trade but most recently worked for Castle Building Centre. He liked to tinker and trade old vehicles and loved the craftsmanship of antique furniture that he collected. Cal loved to laugh and had a wicked sense of humor. He will be missed by his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Hoemsen and Marlene Gaebel; and brother, Stanley. Calvin will be lovingly remembered and survived by his sisters; Elaine (Harry) Tatlow of Prince Albert, Jacqueline Turnier of Calgary, Sharon Turner of Regina, Sandra Turner of Saskatoon and Brenda Lavalley of Moose Jaw; brothers, Wesley (Denise) Turner of Regina and Brian of Moose Jaw; brothers-in-law, Hugo Hoemsen and Roy Gaebel; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital and Pioneers Housing (Lodge & Village) for the comfort they provided Calvin during in his final days. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 9th, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 E Assiniboine Ave, Regina, SK. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Calvin’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK S4P 2R3.
