Richard Henry Tucker
Richard Henry Tucker of Riverhurst, Saskatchewan passed away on Saturday, February 27th, 2010 at the age of 92 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 8th, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Riverhurst Community Hall. Linda Owens will officiate and burial will take place at Riverhurst Cemetery. Dick was predeceased by his parents William and Harriet Tucker, sisters Nellie (Horace) Shooter, Dot (Albert) Peterson and Gladys (Ray) Evans; brothers Art (Ruby) Tucker, Archie (Lucille) Tucker, Tom Tucker and Raymond Tucker; nieces Elsie Hurtig and Grace Shooter; nephews Elvin Hurtig, Heinz Fedrau and Stan Betts; and a great niece Debbie Mycek. He leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his many friends. Dick was born September 1st, 1917 at the Tucker homestead in the Shooter Hills, Riverhurst, Sask. During WWII he spent five years in the army. For over 50 years, Dick farmed with his brothers and nephews in the Riverhurst and Central Butte areas. He was always a friendly and generous man who enjoyed good food and good company. Dick enjoyed hunting, curling, watching baseball, baking his own bread, travelling in the Fleury motorhome, and visiting with family and friends. Dick took pride in well farmed fields, good machinery and his vehicles. He was especially pleased when he bought his first Lincoln. Dick enjoyed his life in Iver Main Residence, especially the food and playing bingo. The family would like to thank the staffs of Iver Main and the Regency Manor for their kind and efficient care of Dick. He had a well-lived life.
