Eileen Marian Torgerson
Eileen Marian Torgerson (nee:Gibson) formerly from Keeler passed away peacefully at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on October 19th, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents Harriet and Lemuel Gibson and sister Letitia Coates. Left to mourn her is her devoted husband of 70 years Arnold Torgerson and their children: Tracy Torgerson, Dianne (Jack) Averill, JillTorgerson; daughter-in-law Susan Torgerson; their grandchildren: Kurtis (Tania) Averill, Sean (Rebecca) Torgerson, Jay (Lizanne) Averill, Monica Torgerson and five great-granddaughters. Eileen was born in Ontario on April 3rd, 1920 and moved to Eskbank as an infant. Her parents had the Eskbank store for many years. After her marriage to Arnold they bought a farm in Keeler. This is where they raised their family. Family was always very important to Eileen. She was very active in the community- volunteering her time for many events. In 1981 they bought a house in Moose Jaw and started their retirement. She had many interests including golf, bowling, bridge club, Scandinavian Club and Mortlach Fiddlers. The last few years of her life she enjoyed at the Bentley. Eileen was a great lady and lived her life with much interest for everything and everyone. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Friday, October 28th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Rev. John Carley officiating. Private Family interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. East. Moose Jaw, SK.
