Harry Topp
Harry Topp, aged 91 years of Drinkwater, SK, passed away June 5th, 2011. Harry was born in Rouleau, SK on November 2nd, 1919. He attended school in Rouleau and several rural schools. He enlisted in the Army in April 1940 and served in Canada, United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Harry took part in the Dieppe raid in 1942. He returned to England in June 1944, married Hilda on February 24th, 1945 and moved back to Canada in 1945. He homesteaded at Hazel Del for a few years then moved to Drinkwater where he farmed for over 50 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Hilda; son, Terry; his father and mother; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Harry is survived by son, Jack (Debbie) and son Shane (Pense); daughter, Margaret(Regina); granddaughter, Dawn (Cameron) and their sons Noah and Spencer (Regina); grandson, Paul and his family Travis, Brandon, Trevor and Caitlyn (Edmonton); sister-in-law, Ethel (Moose Jaw) and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 10th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at Drinkwater Cemetery. Legion Rites will be conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #44. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may donate to a favorite charity.
