Deborah Lynn Tiffin
Deborah Lynn Tiffin, aged 55 of Moose Jaw, SK passed away suddenly at 5:35 p.m. on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 after a short, tough fight with small cell lung cancer. Debbie was born June 15th, 1962 in Calgary, AB to Maarten and Anna Helena Van Duyn. She worked several different jobs throughout her life, often times several at one time, but took most pride in her work helping people as a Care aide in a nursing home. Above her work life, Debbie was first and foremost a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, wife, and grandmother. She cared more about her family than herself or any worldly possession. Her greatest joys in life were any activity that brought family together, including family camping and fishing trips, and holiday get-togethers. Debbie’s absolute favourite time of year was the Christmas season and everything that came with it. She always had her Christmas decorations up early and taken down late (if at all) and of course above all, the time spent with family during this season. “And by his stripes I am healed” Isaiah 53:5 – this is exactly how Debbie lived. She would not accept being labelled as sick. Nothing could break Debbie’s faith. She was an incredibly strong woman who dedicated her life to the Lord, and has always had a big influence within the church. It did not matter what obstacle she faced, it was always crushed with her positivity and faith in the Lord. She was predeceased by her husband, Kevin; mother, Anna Helena; and sister, Anna Helena. Debbie is survived by her sons: Richard (Kim), Dallas (Cora), Galen, and Tanner (Genevieve); Fur Baby, Bandit; grandchildren: Shawn, Hailey, Ciara, Nevaeh, Nathaniel, and Gage; father, Maarten; sister, Diederika; brother, Joshua (Heidi); as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 24th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Debbie’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Surtees Funeral Director 306-693-4550
Miss Debbie and I met on CafeMom, a mommy web site in 2007, and we met over our love of the holidays. It will be almost year that she has passed and I will never forget my funny friend. I miss her everyday and as we inch closer to the holidays I miss our talks of our family traditions. I know we will officially meet in Heaven but I miss her here on earth.
