Elizabeth “Brownie” Thiele
Elizabeth “Brownie” Thiele (neé Brown), aged 90 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away Sunday, October 2nd, 2011. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 6th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Al Rossler officiating. Brownie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe; sons, Robert and Lloyd; daughter, Ruth; grandson, Trevor (Trudy); great-grandsons, Jamie and Jaysen; sisters-in-law, Vina and Gusta; her “third son”, Tim; many nieces and nephews; as well as by very special friends, Janice Cavan, Linda Dawson and Marie Wright. Elizabeth was born on the farm in Quantock District near Rockglen, SK. She attended Ayrton School, Rockglen High School and Normal School in Regina, SK. She taught school for 1 year in the Killdeer District and 22 years in Spring Valley. Elizabeth lived in Spring Valley for 47 years before moving to Moose Jaw in 1989. She enjoyed doing many different crafts and reading. Elizabeth was very involved with volunteer work which included Spring Valley School, Union Hospital Library, Literacy Volunteers and was a member of S.T.F. and Keenagers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 2550 Broad St., Regina, SK. S4P 3Z4 or to a charity of one’s choice.
