MAXINE RUTH SWAINE (nee Blatchford)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Maxine on Saturday, February 9th, 2013. Maxine was born October 27th, 1933 to Frank and Emma Blatchford. She worked most of her life, starting at age 15 working at the Capitol Theatre in Moose Jaw and just recently retired as a bookkeeper on October 31st, 2012 from M&M Construction, where she worked for many years. In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing, curling and bowling. Maxine liked to spend time in her garden, painting, playing bingo and was a member of the Northwest Community Association where she volunteered many hours to raise money for improvements to Moose Square. Maxine loved to spend quality time with her grandkids, spending many hours with them. Family was most important to her and she would always be there for anyone who needed help. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Emma Blatchford; brothers, Kenny and Larry; and sister-in-law, Theresa. Maxine is survived by her daughter, Deb (Rod) Maier; grandkids, Clinton and Cassidy Maier; brothers, Ray (Mary) and Billy (Terry); sisters: Irene, Edith (Roy), Betty (Angus), Frances (John), Faye, Karen, Gail (Dave), Patsy and Bonnie. At Maxine’s request, there will be no Funeral Service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Maxine’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 9Z9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
