Roy Leonard Sullivan
It is with deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Roy Leonard on September 6th, 2011 at the age of 86. Roy was born March 13th, 1925, the youngest of nine children to Mike and Emma Sullivan of Mossbank. He was a well respected businessman in Moose Jaw having worked for Patterson Motors and later, on his own selling cars for which he had a passion. He was a man of his word and stood behind every sale. He was a trusted landlord and friend to many tenants throughout the years. Roy had an acute memory for dates, events and pretty much everything (even to the end). Although plagued with near blindness, he never complained. He loved company and nothing pleased him more than the sound of the doorbell. Hospitality was the norm at his house; you always found yourself with a drink in your hand before you had your coat off. He loved nothing more than to reminisce with family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, infant son Michael; brothers Harold and Terry; sisters Bernice, Dot, Peg, Irene, Eloise and longtime companion Ev Ohm. Roy is survived by his sister Tye (Stan) of Richmond, B.C.; son Pat (Marilyn); granddaughter Robyn (Ashley) and great grandson Rhys all of Regina, Sk.; Grandson Ryan (Marissa) and great grandsons Ronan and Nolan all of Calgary, Ab.; as well as many nieces and nephews to whom he was very close. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made in Roy’s name to The Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 2550 Broad St., Regina, SK., S4P 3Z4.
