Norman Earl Stewart
Norman Earl Stewart passed away on July 11, 2008 at the age of 81 with his loving family at his side after a courageous battle with various health problems.
Norman was born on May 1, 1927 in the Chamberlain District. He was the youngest son of Charles and Eva Stewart. He moved to the Sunset District in 1931 and attended Sunset School until Grade 9 when he quit school to tend to the Family farm while his brothers went to war. He has farmed for the past 66 years in the Sunset District and continued to be active in the farming operation up till the spring of this year. Norm was involved as a councilor for the R.M. of Dufferin for 13 years. He was an avid curler in his younger years and attended many a bonspiel. He later turned his attention to the Riders, golf, camping, holidays and socializing with his friends.
He was a life member of the Moose Jaw Elks Lodge # 7 as well as a member of the Moose Jaw Legion and Army and Navy Vets. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Eva Stewart, brothers Jack and Lawrence and sisters Gladys and Belle. He is survived by loving wife and companion of 53 years, Gladys and their sons, Cal (Brenda) of Moose Jaw and their sons Tyler and Andrew, Darryl, on the farm, Greg (Cathy) and their children Ann-Marie and Paul, sister Jessie (Ivan) Hove of Regina, brother-in-law Ralph Ackerman of Moose Jaw and numerous nieces and nephews.
