Gordon Raymond Stewart

Gordon Raymond Stewart passed away on Sunday, February 17th, 2013 at his home in Central Butte, SK at the age of 66 years.  He was born September 13th, 1946 in Central Butte to Raymond and Pearl Stewart.  Gord grew up in Central Butte and also lived in Alberta, where he worked as a mechanic and had many adventures with his wife Darlene.  But his love of farming brought him back home where he enjoyed that until 1998 when he got a position on the Riverhurst Ferry, where he loved being outdoors and interacting with the public until his retirement, spending his remaining years enjoying family and friends.  He was predeceased by his mother, Pearl in 1990.  Gord is survived by his father, Ray; special friend, Erna Del; children, Shanlee (Dallas) and Kurt (Kendra); grandchildren: Ashten, Hayden, Hunter, Scott, Kamden and Colter; brother, Reg (Vionne); as well as many nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 22nd, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Central Butte United Church, Central Butte, SK with Reverend Rick McCorrister officiating.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Gord’s name may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Assoc., 917A Albert St., Regina, SK S4R 2P6.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Jeff Ofstie, Funeral Director. 693-4550.
