Wilma Sadie Stevenson
Wilma Sadie Stevenson left this world peacefully on Monday, May 13th, 2024, at the age of 91 years. Wilma was born in North Bay, ON February 9th, 1933. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Wilma was highly skilled at crafting and sewing and showed her love for her family by creating beautiful handmade gifts. She gave her time and was always there when needed by family.
One of Wilma’s passions was line dancing. She spent many hours with friends as she performed and competed in many community events. Competing in Vegas was one of Wilma’s most treasured line dancing memories.
Wilma also gave to her community by volunteering at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. She spent many years helping in the gift shop as well as other areas in the hospital. She also volunteered at the Abbotsford Senior Centre. Wilma participated in many fundraisers, contributing not only her time but many of her well sought after crafts.
Wilma absolutely loved Christmas. She loved spending time with her family and making gifts. She loved every aspect of Christmas from the music to the decorations, and snowmen. Snowmen were a particular favorite for her, and she lovingly made and shared her creations.
She was predeceased by her parents, William Robert Long and Edith Vermillion Long; sister, Pearl Frederick; son, Ronald William Stevenson; and great-grandson, Vann Scandrett. We are sending our heart felt condolences and love to you all.
Sadie was more like a sister than a cousin to all of her family in North Bay. So many happy memories. May all your memories bring you some comfort in this very difficult time.
I am very sorry for your loss. I remember coming to your home in Moose Jaw to see Auntie Sade when I was about 14 or 15 years old. She stayed with our family to help when my mom was in the hospital in 1969 for about 3 weeks. Mike and Eric were just little boys then. Mom always loved Sade (as she was known by her middle name then) and often told stories about growing up in North Bay, Ontario. Sade was always a kind, loving aunt to us, we will miss her very much.
Condolences to you all a mom is a hard one to loose , remember you memories always, to my good friends Terry, Bev , and Girls, you are in my thoughts . Take Care Love Chris and Leroy and family

Ken & I send our heartfelt condolences to you Terry, Bev and your whole wonderful family.
Our most heart felt sympathy for your loss I’ve known her since the mid 1980s as I’ve known you and I think you were very blessed to have her in your live for all that time. She knew she was deeply loved and she love you so much. She will be truly missed, all our prayers for you and yours.
Auntie Sadie was very loved by our mom. Growing up as sisters, Mom would regale us with stories about North Bay and how Sadie was the little sister mom could convince to “try” daredevil tricks.
Growing up, I had an opportunity to visit several times both in Saskatchewan and BC. We were always welcomed and felt at home. My memories will always be of her smile and laugh. Our condolences.
Kathy, the loss of a mother leaves a void that words cannot fill. Please accept our heartfelt condolences from the White Rock Players Club. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
