Steele, Margaret
Dear Friends and family – A few words to let you know that Mom passed away peacefully in the early morning on May 25th. She had settled into Moose Jaw Extendicare when her time came. She was the last of her Reynolds family siblings. Marg was born in Frobisher, Saskatchewan in 1921 before the family homesteaded near Ardill. The “dirty thirties” chased them off the land and they settled in Moose Jaw with the family spirit undampened. She married Harvey in 1942, her love, friend and dance partner. After the war they resettled in Moose Jaw where Marg’s trademark was her love of family, music and humour. She was a long time employee at McCauley’s Insurance where she dispensed insurance advice and jokes. Upon retirement she helped form the “59ers”, a Legion dance band that played and partied for a decade. She was intensely proud of her family, Bob (Pat) in Calgary and Jim (Susan) in Oklahoma City. Her 5 grandchildren (located in Calgary, Oklahoma City and Helsinki) were serious bragging material and she thought her 7 great grandchildren were so beautiful. She loved to pull out the latest pictures of the crowd. Late in her life as her capabilities diminished she received tremendous help from her niece Pat Cook and Pat’s family. Mom will be cremated and we will hold a Memorial Service to celebrate her life on Saturday, June 6th, 2009 at 1:30 pm in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Friends and family are welcome to attend. She has joined Harvey where they can reminisce, watch ball games and be at peace. Good bye and go with our love. In lieu of flowers donations in Marg’s name may be sent to a charity of your choice.
