William George Staines
William George Staines (Billy or Pa), aged 91 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Monday, August 3rd, 2020 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. He was predeceased by five brothers and sisters; and his loving wife, Elizabeth (née: West). William is survived by brother, Arvid (Ruth) of Abbottsford, BC and sister, Mary (Mamie) of Winnipeg, MB; as well as his friend and caregiver/guardian of 47 years, Marlene Borthwick. William has been retired for many years and was previously employed in laundry services at Valley View Centre until 1994. By all reports, he was a willing and able worker. Anyone who knew Billy or Pa (as many nicknamed him) was struck by his permanent smile and always cheerful disposition. Never was he heard to complain or say a bad word about anyone. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in William’s name may be made to his place of worship, St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 80 High St E, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1S3. Sorry to hear of William’s passing. He was a regular attender of services at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. Always a smile and good friend to all the folks at St. Mark’s. He will be missed. Together with his beloved Elizabeth again.

So very sorry to hear that Uncle Bill, beloved brother to mom, (Maime) Mary Perry had passed. She so loved chatting with him over the past few years thanks to Uncle Arvid and others who reunited us to him via facebook so much so calls could be made and Oxford Villa kindly passed along updated pics of his sister to him.
