Anna Spinney
With sadness we announce the passing of Anna Spinney, aged 89 years of West Park Crossing Retirement Community in Moose Jaw, SK, on Thursday, January 18th, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred Fortin and Eva Fortin (née Cossette); sisters, Annette Doran and Noella Georgelin; and brothers, Raymond and George. Anna will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Gerald; sister, Janet Bach; as well as many nieces and nephews. Anna was born in Coderre, SK on January 21st, 1928. While living in Moose Jaw, she married Gerald in 1954. Gerald was a pilot and together they lived in seven provinces. Anna was outgoing and loved visiting with friends, attending family gatherings, travelling, camping, dancing, and her poodles. She also volunteered for various organizations, including libraries. Even though Anna had no children of her own, she was a mother to all of the children she met. She also raised foster children and operated a play school. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 26th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK. Reverend George (Varki) Thattuparampil will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Anna’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, 301 – 2550 – 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
