Helen Florence Smith
Helen Florence Smith passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020. Helen was born on December 21, 1927. She is predeceased by her parents, Martin and Sophie Kildaw; loving husband of 54 years, William Edward Smith; infant son, Leonard and brothers, Alexander, Leonard and Lawrence Kildaw. She will be lovingly missed by daughter, Marlene (Ted) Cant (Jan (Frank) Fontana, Ian Cant and Darren (Cheyanne) Cant); son, Dean (Colleen) (Haley (Dave) Tran, Lindsay (Ian) Munroe, Mallory (Ryland) Nakamura and Zack (Brittany) Smith); son, Blair (Brenda) Smith (Linnea (Chad) Hepting). Helen was also blessed with 12 beautiful great grandchildren who were so very special to her. Helen trained as a registered nurse and spent many years working at Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw and volunteering her time at various organizations. She was active in the Anglican Church and the Pythian Sisters. Helen’s family was her greatest joy and she never failed to offer assistance and support where she saw a need. Crafting kept her busy and she was well known for her creations. Helen enjoyed travelling, venturing overseas twice and often visiting family and friends in Campbell River. She was an avid hockey fan most of her life. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff and Doctors from the Medical Floor and Ambulatory Care at the Dr. F.H Wigmore Hospital in Moose Jaw for the excellent care she was given. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
