Allan Ralph Smith
Allan Ralph Smith of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on Sunday, July 26th, 2009 at the age of 82 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 1st, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. John Kreutzweiser will officiate and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery. Legion Rites will be observed by Roscoe Steele of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 31st, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Allan was predeceased by his parents Irma and Lorne, and his brother Harold. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years Lillian; daughters Twyla (Wayne) Sirovyak, Lorna (Jeff) Barber and Debbie (Dale) Santa; sons Dwaine (Heather) and Joe (Sandy); 11 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy; his sisters Gertie Carter and Joyce Laity; his Aunt Bob; and numerous other relatives. Allan loved his family, farming, gardening, fishing and dogs. Most of all he loved and lived life to the fullest. To his grandchildren he was affectionately know as the “energizer bunny”. For those so wishing, memorial donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, Medicine Hat Chapter, 526A 3rd St. S.E., Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 0H3 or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Box 1376, Moose Jaw, Sask.
