Joan Elizabeth Shepherd

With heavy hearts we announce the passing our over beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Joan Elizabeth Shepherd.  Joan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017 with family by her side.  She was born August 15th, 1946 in Spring Hill, Nova Scotia.  Joan was the eldest of 3 girls, mom of 2 children, a wife, and grandmother to 9.  Small but mighty, Joan never backed down from a challenge, worked hard and was an active ‘get it done’ type of person.  Family was very important to Joan.  She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s activities.  She was predeceased by her parents, Barb and Gerald Leslie; and her sister, Betty Leslie Maningas.  Her legacy and memory will live on with her husband, Barry; children, Adam (Bev) and Shelley (Bill); sister, Pam; grandchildren: Amelia, Rachel, Mekonnen, Miheret, Tenaye, and Mitike.  A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held on Monday, February 13th, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s name may be made to The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition at https://www.multiplesystematrophy.org.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
