Jack was predeceased by his wife, Lauretta; brother, Gordon; and sister, Ruby. Jack was born on the family farm near Mawer, Saskatchewan on October 28th, 1922 to Eddie and Delia Schoenau. He married his sweetheart Lauretta (Dodi) Nouch on November 30th, 1944 at Marquis, Saskatchewan. The couple began their married life in Mawer. In 1960, Jack and Dodi moved the family to the Schoenau farm, where they owned and operated a grain/cow-calf operation. After Jack sold the cattle in 1976, he, Dodi, and Jeff moved to Saskatoon, where they lived during the winters until Dodi’s untimely death in 1980. He found love again when he met Ellie Hatch in 1985. They spent over 16 winters traveling to Arizona to enjoy the warm winters and enjoyed the last 26 summers at the cabin at Mistusinne, Lake Diefenbaker. In his later years he kept busy with his favourite pastimes of gardening, fishing, berry picking, canning fruit, golfing, and arrowhead hunting. Jack was most happy when he had a project on the go. His family will always remember him for his generous words of advice. The family would like to extend a thank you to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital and Dr. Geyer for the care Jack received during the last few weeks of his life. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Central Butte, SK.
