John Reinhold Schock
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Reinhold Schock at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on January 1st, 2010 at the age of 94. John was predeceased by his first wife Maria Pauline Schock in 1991, brothers Jake Schock, Adolph Schock, and sisters Edna Prigotzke, Gilda Amman, and Hurtha Schock. John leaves to mourn his second wife Alma Gray-Schock; son Ernie Schock (Donna); grandchildren Cheryl Pockrandt (Rob), Pam Schock, Todd Schock (Lindsay); great-grandchildren Derek, David, and Kayla Tanner, and Jayelle and Jasmine Schock; sisters Irene Schoupp, Mayda Kallis (Eric), Martha Trithardt (Emil); and brother Milbert Schock (Loretta); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn Alma’s children Bonnie Stasyk (Metro), Marvin Gray (Doreen), Garnet Gray; grandchildren Curtis, Cara, Tyler and Haley Gray. John was born October 11, 1915 on the farm at Arbuthnot, Saskatchewan. John married Maria Pauline Lewichew on June 11, 1939 in Summerberry, Saskatchewan. They farmed in the Glen Bain area and John managed the Co-op bulk station. John and Maria moved to Moose Jaw in 1963 where he worked at Army and Navy, and later co-owned and managed A-1 Autobody until his retirement in 1982. John and Alma were married in Moose Jaw on November 6, 1993. John was a member of and highly involved in the Free Methodist Church and had a servant’s heart. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and family sporting events, and puttering with various hobbies. John’s faith and family were the most important things in his life. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 4th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Dwight Baron will officiate and burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 2M2.
