Gerald Schneider
Gerald Schneider passed away on March 11th, 2008, at the age of 87 at Extendicare, Moose Jaw. Gerald was born on December 31st, 1920 at Buffalo Gap, Saskatchewan, the middle of five children born to Edward and Magdelaine. He attended school in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan and Langruth, Manitoba. He spent most of his career as an Elevator Agent for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and prided himself in providing quality service. Gerald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marion; his son Don (Sharon) and their children Jason and Chris all of Saskatoon; and his daughter Barb (Bob) Clarke of Moose Jaw and their children Stacey of Saskatoon and Jeff of Grande Prairie, Alberta; as well as his brother, Willard of Gladstone, Manitoba. Following an early retirement in 1978, Gerald and Marion moved to Moose Jaw where he spent a number of years working at the government elevator. Gerald enjoyed gardening, ice fishing, all sports and his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a fifty year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. With poor physical health, Gerald moved to his “second home”, Extendicare in 2005 where he enjoyed the activities and the staff who provided loving care and always had time for a visit and a kind word. They were truly a blessing to Dad throughout his stay. In keeping with the family’s request, a private service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Extendicare Resident Council, 1151 Coteau St. West, Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 5G5.
