A Memorial Tribute for our special aunt, Norma Kathleen Schmidt, will be held on her birthdate Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Providence Place Chapel, 100 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK. Words of remembrance and tributes will take place at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Swift Current (intersection of Highway 4 & 1) at 3:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Norma’s name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, 1401 West Broadway – 7th Floor, Vancouver, BC V6H 1H6. Norma Schmidt, much loved sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend, passed away at Providence Place in Moose Jaw, SK on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Susan Schmidt; brothers, Herman (Ann) and Elmer; sisters, Erna (Bill) Champion and Elda (Cliff) Janzen; and nephews: Wayne Janzen, James Janzen and Steven Janzen. Norma will be lovingly remembered with a smile by her 9 nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other relatives. Norma was born in the hospital at Vanguard, SK. She attended school in Pambrum, SK for grades 1-10 and completed her high school years in Swift Current, SK. Before moving to Calgary in the early 1960’s, Norma worked in banking in Swift Current. In Calgary, she spent most of her working life in the oil industry. In the mid 1990’s, Norma moved to Moose Jaw to be closer to family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
