Cecilia Bernice Schafer

Cecilia Bernice Schafer, of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away quietly on Saturday, January 24th, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Cec was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Maria Perreault, her sister Josephine Hindle, her sister Dalina in infancy, her dear son Tim in 1998 and her beloved husband of 66 years Peter in 2006. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Richard (Margaret) of Kelowna, B.C.; her daughter Judith (Alan) Rollie of Moose Jaw; daughter in law Bonnie Schafer of Calgary, Ab.;8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her sisters Dallas Babchuk of Nanaimo, B.C. and Marjorie Williamson of Moose Jaw; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Thomson of Trinity United Church will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Cec was born in Crichton, Saskatchewan on December 6th, 1918. She married Peter on January 14th, 1940 in Kirkland Lake, Ont. Home and family was always the centre of her life. Cec loved music and dancing and getting “dressed up”! She was a gentle soul and we will miss her terribly. The family would like to thank all Mom’s “angels” at Extendicare for their kind and compassionate care – she thought of you as family. Flowers are gratefully declined.
