Karl H. Saemann
Husband, dad, son, brother, uncle and friend, Karl passed away after a difficult battle with cancer, and is now at peace. Born and raised in Moose Jaw, Karl graduated from A.E. Peacock Collegiate in Moose Jaw and began work for the city in June of 1974 as a temporary labourer. Over the years his hard work and dedication was rewarded and he was named General Foreman for Parks and Recreation – Green Space, retiring in December of 2016. Karl’s love and pride for his work, and all he accomplished, is displayed throughout the city of Moose Jaw. Every park, playground, outdoor rink, sports fields and cemetery stands as a testament to Karl’s love of, and passion for, his work. In his spare time, he loved working with his 3 dogs on the agility field, also spending endless volunteer hours developing the Moose Jaw Dog Club agility field into a space that the whole club could enjoy. Karl will be sorely missed by those he leaves behind: his parents Otto and Irmgard Saemann, wife of over 35 years, Jennifer; children, Allison (Jason Zerr and daughter Karissa), Erin Campbell (Chris) and Jason; siblings Peter, Moni, Sue, Ralph and Steven; many nieces and nephews, best friends and golf buddies. At Karl’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to Riverside Mission in Moose Jaw or your favorite charity would be appreciated, or even just volunteer somewhere in his honour, to help someone in need. Let Karl’s love and generosity of spirit be an example to follow, and pay it forward. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
