JOYCE LORRAINE SABO
July 26th, 1936 – September 27th, 2023
Joyce Lorraine Sabo aged 87 years of Moose Jaw, SK, took her last breath on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, with her daughter Tracy by her side, the one with whom she shared her first and almost every important achievement in between. Joyce was an only child born to Remi and Thelma Jacobs in Ochre River, MB. She did many jobs but while working as an EKG tech in Brandon, MB she met Frank Sabo. They moved to Saskatoon, SK so he could accept a job at CFQC T.V. and married in 1963. Joyce then had her most important and likely most stressful job as a mom to Tracy. Joyce worked for the City of Saskatoon and obtained her real estate license, but when Tracy graduated in 1985, she became the CEO, communications expert, accountant, janitor, main boss and therapist at Footworks Dance Studio. These positions she successfully maintained for 25 years. Joyce was proudly a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion and volunteer at the WDM Museum. She was most proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she often pretended she couldn’t pick up, but did. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Gus Wilson); grandson, Donovan Sotnikow (Hailey); granddaughter, Delaney Boehme (Will) and great-grandsons, Levi and Axel; granddaughter, Maguire Sotnikow (Erik) and soon to be great-granddaughter; and grandson, Mackenzie Wilson (Bronwyn). A Memorial Service to honour Joyce will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
We will remember Joyce as a kind and caring lady who had a wonderful impact on our daughters’ lives through Footworks Studio. She was always so cheerful and welcoming with a heartwarming laugh and patience and she always had time to lend a listening ear to both children and adults. We appreciated her skills keeping everyone organized and informed about classes, registrations, schedules and competitions during such a busy time in our lives. Sending heartfelt condolences to Tracy and the rest of your family from ours.
Tracy and family,
We send our deepest condolences. Joyce’s presence at footworks was a special blessing for the students and their families. She was truly a beautiful woman with a heart of gold.
