Micheal Edward Ryan
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Micheal Edward Ryan on Friday, September 4th, 2009 at the age of 55 years. Mike was born on May 1st, 1954 in White Rock, B.C. He was predeceased by his brother Peter Ryan, his mother Jacqueline Sydnam and his wife Lisa. Mike is survived by his two sons Peter and Jeffrey; his sisters Jennifer Sweder and Susan Munroe; his nephew and namesake Michael Ryan; his step-father Harold Sydnam; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. After entertaining the general public and law enforcement in Vancouver and Toronto, Mike finally settled in Moose Jaw in 1976 where he married Karen Green. Mike had a love for the great indoors, especially the Harwood, the Eagles Club and his favourites, the Bridgehouse and “Trample” Gardens. Mike was an insulator by trade. He boasted daily about the life-long friendships he had acquired from his brothers and sisters in the Heat Frost and Asbestos Workers Union. Mike also loved travel, music and quality time with his family and friends. He was a much loved resident of South Hill and Moose Jaw knew him for his nickname “rabbit” and also for his home inspections. In keeping with Mike’s wishes a private family service will be held. Mike requests that his friends and family gather for a celebration of his life and all that was Mike, to be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 beginning at 5:30 p.m. above the South Hill Bowling Centre, 510 Home St. West. For those so wishing, donations in Mike’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 2M2.
