Lorna Rusu
Lorna Rusu, lovingly known as “Mama Rusu”, passed away peacefully with her daughter holding her hand, on Monday, May 4th, 2015. Lorna worked hard her whole life and instilled those values in her children. She loved to cook and bake, and made it her mission in life to ensure nobody went hungry. Her second passion was gardening. She could make anything grow or bloom. Her quick wit and sense of humour will be missed by all. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Schwitzer; and her sister, Jeanette “Jay” Munro. Lorna is survived by her son, Mitchell Rusu; daughter, Jacqueline (Kelly) Stephens; brothers and sisters: Richard (Silvia), Leo, Darvin (Pat), Donald (Janice), Jack (Heather), Marge (Bill) Topp, Linda, and Diane (Alvin) Senft; brother-in-law, Jim Munro; her extended Rusu family; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Thank you to the nursing staff at Extendicare for the care they provided during her stay, and the compassion and comfort extended to her and the family during her final days. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Regina, SK. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lorna’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
