Mabel Isabell Roby
Mabel Isabell Roby, age 99 years, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 27th, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Lulu Hillson; husband, Earl Morton Roby; grandson, David Bobst; siblings: Vera (Clare) Weddige, Edith (Barton) McLeod, Milly (Frank) Cairns, and John (Vivian) Hillson; and Earl’s siblings: Norma (Ed) Rae, Mae (Dewey) Cunningham, and Harry (Faye) Roby. Mabel is survived by her children: Sharon (Mel) Bobst, Gayle (Barry) Burns, Carol (Phil) Lewis, and Rick (Eileen) Roby; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many, many friends. Mabel was born and raised in the Briercrest District, marrying and then raising their family on the family farm at Hickory Corner. She was a dedicated, efficient homemaker. Mabel and Earl later lived in Moose Jaw for seven years before moving to Peachland, BC where Earl passed away in 1977. Mabel moved back to Saskatchewan in 1988. She lived in Regina until health challenges necessitated moving into various health care facilities. The joy and passion of her life continued to be family, only surpassed by her personal, daily relationship with Jesus Christ. She so enjoyed the life of the church evidenced in her support of the leadership, her overseas missions and her trips to Israel. She made enduring memories and lasting impact as she willingly participated in and gave leadership to various ministry opportunities. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Mabel’s name may be made to the Kedleston Gospel Camp, 808 Assiniboine Ave E, Regina, SK S4V 0K6.
