George “Sam” Richmond
George “Sam” Richmond, aged 79 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Monday, July 16 th, 2007. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 20 th, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and placement in the Columbarium will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Sam was born in Mortlach, Sask. and received his education at Eastley. He started his employment with the C.P.R. in 1948 and worked there until retirement in 1984. In 1946, he married Evelyn Noren and together they resided in Moose Jaw until their passing. Sam was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shrine Club and was a Legislative Representative for the U.T.U. Sam was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Nessie; his wife Evelyn in 2001; brother Spud; sisters Marj, Louise; and great grandson Scott. Sam will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Diane(Marv) Schaitel and their children Tracey (Vaughn) Johnson and Brett (Bridget) Schaitel; daughter Judy (Greg) Cave and their children Randy (Brenda) Cave and Kari (Pat) Kelly; 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; brother Rick (Shirley) Richmond; three sisters Elsie (Robert) Massey, Lois (Roger) Lakusta, and Wilma Fulks; sister in law Joyce Richmond; brother in law and sister in law Stan (Doreen) Noren and numerous other relatives.
