Kurt Herman Rempel
Our beloved father, Kurt Herman Rempel, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 22nd, 2024, at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan; parents, Isaac and Mary; brothers, Helmut and Wilf (Doreen); and sisters: Freda (Charles), Gertie (Harold), Anne (Wilf), Erna, and Lydia. Kurt will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Hulda (Chuck) and Ella (Gordon); daughters, Myrna and Cheryl (Paul); grandkids: Levi (Audra), Kristi, Sasha (Ethan), and Matty (-Little Kurt-); and great-grandkids, Wren and Selah. We will all miss that mischievous grin and the twinkle in his eye.
Kurt was a husband of 57 years and father who showed his love through his actions. He modelled and instilled a strong work ethic in his children, and was a man of few words, always willing to help anyone in need. He was a jack of all trades. Kurt had a passion for hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He loved Gospel quartet music. He worked for Briercrest College & Seminary on the maintenance team as a mechanic, heavy equipment operator, and locksmith from 1957 until the day he retired.
In keeping with Kurt’s wishes, no Memorial Service will be held. He preferred we go on a family holiday and make a memory instead. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations in Kurt’s name may be made to Reach2Ukraine – a non profit that helps orphans in the Ukraine who have aged out of the system, find housing and a future at www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/24962, or to the Briercrest Christian Academy for a new kiln for the art program through etransfer to payment@briercrest.ca or if using credit card www.briernet.com/payments.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the palliative care nurses and staff for all of their support and assistance during this difficult time.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
I send my sincere condolences during this time of deep sorrow. The Bible gives the comforting hope that your loved one will come to life again on a peaceful paradise earth when death will be no more in John 5:28, 29 and Acts 24:15
