Giovanna (Giv) Reidy

Giovanna (Giv) Reidy, aged 77 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27th, 2012 with her family by her side.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 2nd, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw, SK.  Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant and a private family interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery.  A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane, Moose Jaw, SK.  She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Hannah Smith; sister, Julie Barnes and brother, Matthew Smith.  Giv will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Frank; sons: Greg (Cyndy) and their children Brennan and Emily, Dennis (Barb) and their children Katelyn, Brett and Kyle, and Dave (Lora) and their children Ryan and Josh; sisters, Agnes Reilander and Geri Walker; twin brother, Jerome Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.  Giv enjoyed her time watching her family participate in different sporting activities and liked spending time at the family cottage at Sun Valley.  She was a life member of the C.W.L. and a member of the Providence Place Auxiliary.  Giv was a longtime member of the Hillcrest Golf Course and shared her time in other numerous volunteer measures.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Giv’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation for Palliative Care, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  James Murdock, Funeral Director. 693-4550.
