Donald William Reed
January 5th, 1964 – October 23rd, 2017
Don went to his prepared home in heaven on Monday, October 23rd, 2017 after a year of dealing with cancer. Don was born to missionary parents Lyman and Jean Reed in Chiengmai, Thailand. He was predeceased by his mother, Jean; and infant half-brother, Kenneth. Don will be sadly missed and remembered by his father, Lyman and step-mother, Dorothy; his brothers and their wives: Leonard and Mary, Ronald and Elizabeth, Benjamin and Marlene; nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Ben) Skinner, Kristina, Jean, Virginia, Katherine, and Kenneth (Tiera) Reed, William (Megan) Reed, and Bruce; great-niece, Mira Reed; and great-nephew, William Skinner. Don’s secondary education was at Briercrest Bible College and SIAST. He loved basketball and while employed in Moose Jaw, played in the Senior Men’s League. His faithful church attendance and help wherever needed were exemplary. Little children loved him and crowded around for his attention. They called him the “gentle giant”. Don helped with youth group activities in his church and also at “Voltage”, sang in the choir, and ushered regularly. Though quiet and reserved, he found his place in the Cantabile Choir and enjoyed the Christmas performances. We, his family, celebrate his life for the steady, strong and gentle man he was. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 11th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Norman Klassen will officiate and a private family interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Don’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
