Clare Ramsay
Clare Ramsay, aged 87 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017. Clare was born on August 30th, 1929 in Regina, SK. He grew up in Tugaske, SK and at the age of 14, began work as a farmhand in the local area. In 1949, he relocated to Moose Jaw to begin a 38 year career with Canadian Pacific Railway as a Conductor, Rules Instructor and Trainer. Clare was a lifelong curling enthusiast, and along with many bonspiel victories, in 1980 was voted Allstar Lead on a Canadian Seniors Championship team. One of his favourite pastimes was golfing at the Hillcrest Golf and Country Club, where in 1993 he scored a hole in one! In his retirement years, Clare remained active by maintaining a beautiful yard and traveling with Angelé. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching various sporting events on TV. He was predeceased by his parents, Finlay and Williamina Ramsay. Clare is survived by his wife of 58 years, Angelé; sons, Mark and Rick (Lynne); grandchildren: Kristin, Justine, Joel and Joshua; great-grandson, Braxton; and sister, Margaret (Delbert) Schmidt. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 6th, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Father Rick Krofchek will officiate and a private family interment will take place at Moose Jaw Indoor Columbarium. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Clare’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, #301 – 2550 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
