Doreen Pylychaty
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mom, (Midorean) Doreen Pylychaty (née: Onofrechuk, Clark) on Saturday, February 24th, 2024. Our mom was a very proud wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
Born May 9th, 1939, in Bluewing, Manitoba, Doreen left home at an early age, arriving in Moose Jaw, SK. She worked at various restaurants and hotels before meeting our dad, where they settled down to have their family.
Doreen’s biggest joy in life was baking and cooking, and always had a freezer full of food and goodies, just in case someone should stop in for coffee, maybe lunch, or even supper. Her happiest days were hosting family dinners, and anyone who was alone, providing full plates, full bellies, and leftovers to take home.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Kyle Bailey; son-in-law, Ken Hertes; stepson, David Pylychaty; father, Louis Onofrechuk; mother, Lena Keeper; stepfather, Eli Keeper; brothers: John, Jim, Lawrence, and Freddy Onofrechuk, and Bill Keeper; and sisters, Vera Horatchka and Sylvia Lance. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her second husband of 41 years, Michael Pylychaty; children: Debbie (Barry) Sullivan, Cindy (Dan) O’Connell, Brenda (Gregg) McSherry, Terry (Perry) Rayner, Kevin (Teresa) Clark, Glenda (Robin) Bailey, Chris Clark, and Sandra Hertes; stepdaughter, Cathy Pylychaty; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Elsie Graff; brother, Johnny (Sylvia) Keeper; as well as numerous nieces, and nephews.
Doreen’s sense of humour and charming personality will be missed by so many! The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Chez Nous and Doreen’s final home, Chateau St. Michael. We appreciate the care you have given to our mom in her final years.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 4th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Celebrant Dave Foley will officiate and a private interment will be held at a later date. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Doreen’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

So sorry for your loss. Loved to visit with her when I would visit my Mom at Chez Nous. She also enjoyed the music when our band would play there.
