Pearl Caroline Polley

Pearl Caroline Polley, aged 97 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of Chaplin, SK, passed away on Tuesday, July 1st, 2014.  Pearl was born in Ernfold, SK on February 8th, 1917 to Rose and Ama Biggs.  She spent all of her younger life in Ernfold and Aquadell area.  As a girl, she enjoyed playing ball and sports.  Pearl met and married Robert Polley on October 24th, 1940.  They were blessed with four children: Donalda, Garth, Neil and Keith.  They farmed many years in the Aquadell area and raised cattle and milked cows.  They retired and moved to Chaplin.  Mom and Dad enjoyed fishing, camping and travelling with friends and family.  Mom enjoyed coffee, cribbage, curling, music, the Casino and life in general.  She was known in Chaplin as Grandma Pearl to all ages young and old.  She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; daughter, Donalda; son-in-law, Gary Bauck; grandson, Clinton Bauck; parents, Rose and Ama; brothers, Melvin and George Biggs; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Polley and Florence Biggs; and brothers-in-law: Ronald, Morris, George and Vern.  Pearl will be sincerely missed by her family: Garth (Norma), Evan and Sherry, Brittany, Tiffany, Logan, Randi, great-great-granddaughter Bridget, Brian and Iris, Anthony and Kim, Nicholas and Addie, Aaron and Nancee, Kadance and Luke; Neil (Loreena), Shaun and Tammy, Steven and Mandi, Samantha, Savannah, Trina and Jason, Justin, Shane, Danika, Kara, Tija; Keith, Shelan and Ben, Jake, Joey, Chris, Wendy, Murray and Anita, Brook, Bethany, Julie and Dean, Robin, Sarah, Tilynn, Brendan; sisters-in-law: Pauline, Evelyn, June and Carol, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.  The family would like to thank all the people who helped Mom by giving their time and love during her last years in Chaplin.  She loved you all.  We would also like to thank all who donated to Chaplin Swimming Pool in Mom’s memory.  The Funeral Service was held on Sunday, July 6th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chaplin Community Complex, Chaplin, SK.  Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiated and interment has taken place in Chaplin Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Pearl’s name may be made to the Chaplin Swimming Pool, payable to the Village of Chaplin, General Delivery, Chaplin, SK S0H 0V0.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
