Ronald N. Pigott
With deep and profound sadness we announce the passing of our father, Ronald N. Pigott on Saturday, March 12th, 2016. He leaves behind a family who always knew how deeply he loved them. We were very close and will miss him desperately. His daughter Katherine Brisbin, son-in-law Rod and granddaughters Mackinlee and Cambina, as well as son Jo Pigott, daughter-in-law Heather and granddaughter Taylor, are left behind to mourn and celebrate a life well lived. He will also be missed by his sister, Elaine Sinotte (Moe); brothers: Ken (Laura), Bernie (Barb) and Len (Janet); as well as “the outlaws”: Muriel Welter, Oscar Renneberg and Ray Renneberg (Stella); and many nieces and nephews. Ron was born in Aneroid, Saskatchewan on September 20th, 1936 to Mary and Leo Pigott. He worked as a mechanic in Aneroid and then joined the Canadian Military. He met our mother, Rita Renneberg, while working at Dana, Saskatchewan. She was a nurse at the local doctor’s office in Cudworth and Dad was the driver who took the military men to the clinic for appointments. The story goes that she wouldn’t date him because he wasn’t Catholic, so he promised to convert and so he did. You will never find a more devout Catholic. They married on October 18th, 1965. Mom passed away on December 26th, 2005 and Dad lost his great love. He worked as a driver in the transport section in various military bases until his retirement. He then took on his second career as salesman at Sears. Many people in Moose Jaw can say that Dad sold them a lawn mower or BBQ. Following his retirement from Sears, he followed his heart and started working at Parkview Funeral Home and then moved to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, where he was still working until his passing. On the side, he volunteered his time at the Cosmo’s Senior Centre and was a faithful hardworking member of Church of Our Lady. His sudden death was unexpected and our hearts are broken. Thank you to Moose Jaw EMS, Moose Jaw Police Service and FH Wigmore Regional Hospital Emergency Staff for the overwhelming kindness shown to us during this very difficult time. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 16th, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK with lunch in the hall immediately after the Mass. Father Jake Ibay will be the presiding celebrant and a Graveside Service at Rosedale Cemetery will follow the luncheon. All are welcome. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in honor of Ron to his charity of choice – Moose Jaw Right to Life, Box 1863, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7N6. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
