Oliver Frank (Peg) Peltier
Oliver Frank (Peg) Peltier of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on May 26th, 2012. Oliver was born in Coderre, SK to Eugene and Germaine on April 14th, 1927 and was the eldest of ten children. Oliver was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Marjorie, second wife Jeanne and sisters Lillian, Diane and an infant Lillian. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Dave (Elaine), Denise (Merv) Bunnell, Diane Ireland; grandchildren: Travis (Lindsey), Vanessa (Gil), Allison (Kyle), Kyle (Courtney), Leah (Steve), Aaron; grand puppy Kadi, great-grandchildren: Baron, Bianca and Oliver; sisters: Olive, Pauline (Don), Aline (Art), Bernice (Phil); brothers, Louis (Brenda) and Richard (Priscilla). Oliver spent his childhood in Coderre, SK and moved to Moose Jaw where he resided until his passing. Oliver married Marjorie Mclean and they had three children that they raised in Moose Jaw. After the loss of Marjorie, Oliver met and married Jeanne Perreault and they resided together at Pioneer Village until Jeanne’s passing. With Oliver’s physical disabilities, he spent most of his career behind the wheel of different vehicles, from combines to taxis before purchasing Amils/Grant Hall Taxis with his best friend Jim Fowlie. Oliver was well known as Peg to many who left the local pubs on River Street and dropped into the taxis stand looking for a cab or just for a visit. Oliver loved spending time with his family often cooking the Sunday suppers when we all gathered at home for family time. Later in life these meals where often shared at Denise and Merv’s farm where dad loved to visit and check out the crops. The grandchildren were the light of his life and he loved to tease each one of them about one thing or another, which always brought a smile to his face. The recent addition of three great-grandchildren made him so proud. He carried pictures of the great-grandchildren in his electric wheelchair and was quick to pull them out any chance he got. Nothing made dad more proud than the day baby Oliver was born and he found out the baby was named after him. In Oliver’s younger years he loved to hunt and would always say he wished he could still go hunting so that he could take Kadi with him. Oliver loved his visits with Kadi and would always have treats for her even when she visited him in the hospital. Oliver loved to play crib and enjoyed playing with the girls at the Maquire Center. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 30th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor John Duerksen will officiate.
