Margaret Christina Pell
Margaret Christina (Nee McIver), aged 87 years, passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2007 at Extendicare Nursing Home in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Margaret was born July 27th, 1920 in the Francis, Sask. area. She took her schooling at Maxville School and finished her high school in Francis. She attended Normal School in Regina receiving her teaching certificate. She retired from Brownlee School after teaching 21 years in various locations in Saskatchewan and one year in The Pas, Manitoba. The majority of her years of teaching were at Brownlee. She spent many happy hours playing cards at the Brownlee Senior’s Centre. She also enjoyed her daily walks and waves from friends and travelers. Margaret married the love of her life, Ernie, in 1946 and together they traveled the world and spent many happy hours on the golf courses around Saskatchewan. Predeceased by her husband Ernie; parents Agnes and Donald McIver; brother Murdock McIver; sister Annie Isabelle McIver; a sister in infancy; and a son in law Bill Roy. Her greatest pleasure in life was her family. She took great pride in them and their accomplishments. Margaret leaves to mourn her passing a brother Roy (Betty) McIver; daughter Sharon Roy, granddaughter Denise Roy-Popal and family Brodey and Abbey, grandsons Doug Roy and Brent Roy (June Bjornerud); daughter Beverley (Lyle) Swanson, grandson Beau Swanson (Sarah Volade), granddaughter Ginel (Jerrod) Stephenson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Extendicare for their kindness, caring and thoughtfulness. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 17th, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Rev. Rick McCorrister will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, Sk. S7K 2H8.
