Laurie Carl Pearson
Laurie Carl Pearson, born on June 3, 1952 in Mossbank, Saskatchewan, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at age 59. After a courageous year long battle with cancer Laurie went peacefully at his home in Moose Jaw with his family by his side. Laurie spent the first three years of his life in the Mossbank area and then moved to Moose Jaw. Where he attended Central Collegiate and fell in love with his high school sweetheart Delores Shaw. When Laurie first entered the labour force he drove truck, spent many years at Canada Packers. then spent the remainder of his career, dispatching in the cattle industry. Although he worked away from the farm, his first love was always on the family farm that he worked along side with his father Carl Pearson.
Laurie was one of two children born to Carl Pearson and Marion Pearson and was the beloved husband of Delores for 38 years. He will be forever remembered by his immediate family including his beloved four children Nicole Carle (George, grandchildren Taylor and Tannis), Michelle Erdahl (Steve, grandchildren Samantha and Kelvin), Mark Pearson (Valerie), and Erin (Randy, grandchildren Owen, Mason and Jace). Laurie will be dearly missed by his mother Marion Pearson, older brother John Pearson (Rena), nephews Brett (Janel, children Magnus, Noel and Ellis) and Mat and his caring in laws including mother-in-law Kay Shaw, sister-in-law Sharon Nicolson (Lyle), nephews Curtis (Trina, children Ty and Tasia), Kent, and Chris (Julie), brother-in-law Donald (Dianne), nephew Myles and niece Angela (Brent, children Dalton, Dallas, Blaze and Brock) along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to have known him. Laurie is preceased by his father Carl Pearson, his father in law Denise Shaw and niece Christine Nicolson.
Laurie loved spending time with his family and his seven grandchildren, coaching,and supporting his children and grandkids, having fun riding quads with the boys (Wild hogs), cruising in the Mustang listening to rock & roll, going camping and sitting around the campfire at the lake with family and friends, playing recreational hockey with the Dirty 30’s, riding horses with his family and playing golf, baseball, broomball and football. He was also a member of the Associated Commercial Travelers (A.C.T) service club, These were just a few of Laurie’s passion as he lived everyday to its fullest.
Laurie was very well known and he touched the lives of so many people through his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humour to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St. N. Moose Jaw.
